The History of Army Public School, the MARATHA LIRC
The humble beginning of the school started in “Jija Mata Regimental School” on 19th March 1982 under the aegis of The MARATHA LIRC. Over the years, the institution has undergone significant transformation. Upon its affiliation to Karnataka State Education Board (KSEB) in 2016, it was renamed “Army Pre Primary School.” This was later upgraded to “Army Primary School, The MARATHA LIRC,” and finally, on 19th April 2024, the school proudly adopted its current name, “Army Public School, The MARATHA LIRC, Belagavi.”
Carrying forward the legacy and driven by the vision to expand the school and provide the best facilities for army wards, the Chairman, Brigadier Joydip Mukherjee, initiated the process of CBSE affiliation and successfully brought the school under the esteemed umbrella of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). His initiative has opened new avenues for the school to offer a holistic educational experience, focusing on the intellectual, emotional, and social development of every student.
